Stainless Steel Wire for Cleaning Scrubber Manufacturing, 0.15-12 mm
A scrubber line runs the wire through a crimping head, then winds the crimped ribbon into a pad. Two things stop that line: diameter drift that jams the crimp rolls, and a temper that varies coil to coil so the crimp depth changes. Both are specification questions, not machine settings.
This wire is supplied annealed and soft at 450-650 N/mm2, from 0.15 mm to 12 mm, in 410, 430 or 304. Diameter is held inside a narrow band at the fine sizes used for pads, and the temper is agreed per order rather than per coil.
Grades are stated by service: 430 or 410 for dry and indoor scourers, 304 where the pad sees water, detergent or food contact.

Applications
Crimped scrubber mesh
The crimping head needs a wire that folds without edge cracking; annealed 450-650 N/mm2 holds the crimp shape after release instead of springing back.
Spiral wound pads
Winding tension stays stable when the diameter band is narrow, so pad density and weight per piece remain inside the target.
Brush fill and pad reinforcement
Coarser sizes for brush tufts and pad backing, where the wire is bent once and stays in place.
Product Advantages
- Temper agreed per order - one tensile band across coils, so crimp depth does not drift through the production run.
- Diameter held at pad sizes - inline gauging and controlled rewinding tension reduce jam risk at the crimp rolls.
- Soft enough to fold - annealed wire at 450-650 N/mm2 takes the crimp without cracking at the fold line.
- Grade chosen by service - 430 or 410 for dry indoor scourers, 304 for wet and food-contact cleaning.
- Surface options - bright for visible pads, soap-coated where the wire runs through guides.
- Traceable lots - heat number on each spool label with mill test report 3.1 on request.
Quality Control
Rod grade is verified before drawing. Diameter is measured inline with end-of-coil sampling, tensile and elongation are tested per heat per ISO 6892-1, and surface is checked for scratches and die lines. Spool build and packing are inspected before the carton is closed.
Selection and Ordering Notes
- State the crimp depth and the roll gap your line runs, so the tensile band can be set for the fold.
- Confirm whether the pad sees water or detergent, which decides 430 versus 304.
- Choose bright or soap-coated supply for your guide setup.
- Give spool weight and inner bore for the pay-off.
- Provide sizes and annual volume for a tolerance and packing review.
